Musk Confirms X Will Showcase News Headlines on Platform Once More

In his X post, Musk revealed that the headlines will make a comeback alongside news articles in an upcoming update.

Elon Musk announced on Thursday that X will reinstate news headlines in previews, a feature that was removed previously to enhance the platform's visual appeal by omitting titles alongside URLs.

In his X post, Musk revealed that the headlines will make a comeback alongside news articles in an upcoming update. He specified that in the upcoming release, the platform will display the title on the upper section of the image within a URL card.

However, Musk emphasized that even with the return of headlines, they will still be overlaid on the image, adhering to a meticulous approach to design where "every pixel matters."

Prior to this change in October, users were required to click or tap on the URL card to access the title or read the headline directly.

This update follows a series of challenges faced by X, including major companies like IBM, Apple, Disney, Warner Bros, Discovery, Paramount, and Comcast/NBCUniversal pausing or retracting their advertisements due to Musk's alignment with far-right ideologies and his endorsement of content promoting antisemitism.

In response, Musk filed a lawsuit against Media Matters, a Left-leaning non-profit, accusing them of interference with contracts, business disparagement, and disruption of potential economic opportunities. Media Matters recently alleged that X had been featuring advertisements from prominent brands, such as Apple and IBM, alongside content that glorified Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party.

Amidst these controversies, X CEO Linda Yaccarino reaffirmed her commitment to maintaining truth and fairness on the platform.
