Reliance Jio's 4G keypad smartphone, the 'JioPhone Prima,' is now available for purchase in India at a price of Rs 2,599. This phone can be acquired through key retail stores and online platforms such as Reliance Digital, JioMart, and Amazon.
JioPhone Prima is based on the Kai-OS platform, an open-source mobile operating system. It offers access to popular applications like YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Google Voice Assistant. The phone is equipped with digital cameras for video calling and photography, and it comes preloaded with Jio Digital services, including entertainment options such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioSaavn, and UPI payments via JioPay. It features a premium space design, a 2.4-inch display screen, an 1800mAh battery, and supports 23 different languages.
In addition, Reliance Jio has successfully demonstrated the 'JioSpaceFiber,' India's first satellite-based giga-fiber service. This service is designed to provide high-speed and affordable internet access in remote and inaccessible areas across the country. The demonstration took place during the 'India Mobile Congress 2023' in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
To deliver the JioSpaceFiber service, Jio is partnering with SES, a Luxembourg-based satellite telecommunications network provider, to access medium earth orbit (MEO) satellite technology. This partnership leverages the latest advancements in MEO satellite technology, allowing Jio to deliver high-speed, fiber-like internet services from space.
