Reliance Industries is planning to launch its brand new Google backed 4G smartphone called JioPhone Next on September 10, according to media reports.
The JioPhone Next might be one of the cheapest smartphones yet in India. Its price point is being speculated to be around Rs 5,000 for the basic variant and Rs 7,000 for the advanced variant. It is being produced in partnership with US tech giant Google.
The smartphone is expected to come with all the basic features that are currently available in various low-budget phones. However, it would run on a special Android version that will be developed by Google.

According to certain leaks, it will have two variants, 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage. For the processor, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm's entry-level Snapdragon 215 quad-core processor with a 1.3GHz clock speed.
The JioPhone Next might sport a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720x1,440 pixels and a 2500 mAh battery. Other features include Google Assistant, text-to-speech capabilities, language translation, and smart camera with AR filter.
Reliance Jio has tied up with State Bank of India (SBI), Piramal Capital, IDFC First Assure, and DMI Finance to finance the sales of JioPhone Next. They have reportedly assured business worth Rs 10,000 crore, according to ET Now. Four other non-banking financial companies have reportedly also chipped in Rs 2,500 crore worth of credit support.

The customerwill have the option of buying JioPhone Next by paying just 10% of the total amount upfront. It will be Rs 500 for the lower end phone and Rs 700 for the higher end. The rest of the amount will be financed via No-Interest EMIs.
Jio currently has over 100 million feature phone users in its fold and with the introduction of this phone, it could possibly boom out of reach of every other telecom provider.
