Qualcomm unveiled its latest innovation, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform, tailored for top-tier Android smartphones, on Monday.
Several leading brands, including Honor, iQOO, realme, Redmi, and Xiaomi, are set to embrace the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, with the imminent launch of commercial devices.
Highlighting its features, Qualcomm emphasized its backing for generative AI capabilities, an always-sensing Image Signal Processor (ISP), immersive mobile gaming experiences, revolutionary connectivity options, and lossless high-definition audio.
The platform's versatility extends to supporting a diverse range of AI models, encompassing popular ones like Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, and Gemini Nano.
Chris Patrick, Qualcomm Technologies' Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Handsets, emphasized the platform's user-centric design, aimed at elevating user experiences through on-device generative AI and cutting-edge photography capabilities, thereby fostering creativity and productivity.
Anticipation mounts as the launch of the first Snapdragon 8s Gen 3-powered device is expected this month.
William Lu, Partner and President of Xiaomi Corporation, as well as President of the International Business Department and GM of Xiaomi Brand, hailed the new mobile platform's potential in delivering personalized premium experiences, attributing it to the prowess of generative AI.
