Honor has launched the Magic V5 foldable phone officially in China on Wednesday. The phone has a book-style design, with a foldable 7.95-inch inner OLED display of 2K resolution and an outer 6.45-inch LTPO OLED screen.
Under the hood, there's Qualcomm's top-end Snapdragon 8 Elite processor inside, and up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of local storage on offer.
Fueling the device is a battery capacity of up to 6,100mAh, and wired and wireless fast charging support. The phone also boasts compliance with IP58 and IP59 standards for dust and water ingress.
One of the highlights of the rear camera module is a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor.
Honor Magic V5 Price and Color Options
The base price of the Honor Magic V5 in China is CNY 8,999 (about ₹1,07,500) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB variants are available for CNY 9,999 (about ₹1,19,500) and CNY 10,999 (about ₹1,31,400), respectively. They have four color choices: Dawn Gold, Silk Road Dunhuang, Velvet Black, and Warm White (translated). Pre-ordering is available through Honor's Chinese official website now, with open sales starting on July 4.

The Honor Magic V5 features a huge 7.95-inch foldable OLED inner display with 2K resolution, up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, and 4,320Hz PWM dimming rate for better visuals. The out screen is 6.45 inches and comes with LTPO OLED technology for optimized refresh rate switching. Under the hood, the phone houses Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, combined with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. It features MagicOS 9.1 over Android 15 and includes AI-driven productivity capabilities backed by Deepseek.
For camera duties, the phone features a rear triple camera module consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and 3x optical zoom. For video calls and selfies, two 20-megapixel cameras on the main screen and cover screen are available.
The high-end 16GB + 1TB model features a 6,100mAh battery, with the other configurations sporting a marginally lesser 5,820mAh battery. All variants support 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The phone also receives IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance. Connectivity options comprise dual nano-SIM support, 5G and 4G support, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. When it comes to size, the phone is 8.8mm thick when folded and only 4.1mm thick when unfolded, measuring about 217 grams.
