Google Pixel Users Report Storage Bug Following Installation of Latest Update

Numerous Google Pixel users are encountering issues with their devices following the installation of the January 2024 Google Play system update, leading to a loss of access to internal storage. Problems reported include app crashes, the Files app displaying no files, and failure to save screenshots. Users claim this recurrence mirrors the internal storage access problem experienced in October 2023.

Issues reported include the inability to download photos or videos on WhatsApp, camera malfunction, and inaccessibility of various files such as music, images, videos, and alarms. Google acknowledged the problem, stating to 9to5Google, "we are aware of this issue and are looking into it."

The problem extends to multiple Google Pixel models, including 5, 6, 7, 8, and the Fold series. However, not all Pixel users have encountered problems after installing the January 2024 play update, which has not been widely distributed.
