"By 2029, AI is likely to surpass the collective intelligence of humanity," Musk elaborated.

Meanwhile, OpenAI has enlisted the expertise of prominent lawyers from Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz to defend against Musk's legal challenge.

In their court filing, the company countered Musk's claims, asserting that he initially endorsed a for-profit model for OpenAI under his control, only withdrawing his support when his terms were not met.

"Observing the significant technological advancements achieved by OpenAI, Musk now seeks to claim that success for himself," the lawsuit stated.

"The alleged Founding Agreement is merely a fabrication concocted by Musk to unjustly lay claim to the achievements of a venture he once championed, subsequently abandoned, and then witnessed thrive without his involvement."
