The post is just under three weeks following her tearful declaration on July 13, when she made the public declaration of their marriage being over. The pair, who had been dating since more than a decade ago before getting married in 2018, had long been considered one of Indian badminton's most inspiring couples.

In her previous posting, Saina had posted, "Life takes us in different directions sometimes." She followed up with, "After serious deliberation and thinking, Kashyap Parupalli and I have made the decision to go our separate ways. We're opting for peace, growth, and healing—on our own behalf and for one another. I appreciate the memories and I wish nothing but the best going forward. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this period."

The first report of the breakup had sent fans and the Indian sports fraternity into shock, given that the two had always been perceived as unflappable partners in both on-court and off-court life. They were frequently seen supporting each other at international events and partying to celebrate the other person's achievements.

Saina, who won a bronze medal at the London Olympics 2012, has been a trailblazer in Indian women's sports. Kashyap, also, has represented India at the top level, including the Commonwealth Games and Olympics, and are thus one of India's most successful badminton pairs.

The heartwarming note has been widely seen as an indication that the two might be reconsidering their break-up and moving towards a common future again.
