Aaron Jones delivered an outstanding unbeaten 94 as co-hosts USA kicked off the T20 World Cup with a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Canada in a Group A match.
Canada, after being sent in to bat, scored 194 for five.
In response, USA relied on Andries G'ous' 65 and Jones' unbeaten 40-ball innings to reach the target in just 17.4 overs.
Jones's explosive performance included 10 sixes and four boundaries.
Canada started the chase brightly under the powerplay with aggressive batting from Navneet Dhaliwal—61 off 44— and Aaron Johnson—23 off 13. Nicholas Kirton also provided crucial contribution of 51 off 31.
The effort, though, finally wasn't enough as USA, co-hosting this tournament with the West Indies, reached the target without any hiccup.
