Sunrisers Hyderabad Appoints Pat Cummins as Captain for IPL 2024 Season

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise revealed on Monday that Pat Cummins, the former captain of Australia's World Cup-winning team, will lead their team in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Purchased by SRH for a staggering Rs 20.50 crore during the IPL auctions in December last year, the 30-year-old fast bowler emerged as the second most expensive player in the history of the event.

Cummins takes over the leadership role from South African cricketer Aiden Markram, who captained SRH during the 2023 season.

SRH made the announcement of Cummins' captaincy across their social media platforms, sharing a picture of the seasoned Australian cricketer.

Having previously played for Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils in the IPL, Cummins brings a wealth of experience to his new leadership role with SRH.
