Satwik-Chirag Pair Secures Victory, Srikanth Falters with Errors in India Open Opener

Indian shuttlers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty advanced to the second round of the men's doubles event at the India Open Super 750 tournament. They secured a hard-fought victory against Fang-Chih Lee and Fang-Jen Lee of Chinese Taipei with a score of 21-15, 19-21, 21-16. However, Kidambi Srikanth faced an early exit after losing in straight games to Hong Kong's Lee Cheuk Yiu with a score of 22-24, 13-21.

Srikanth had a good start in the opening game, but Lee gradually gained momentum, securing three game points and eventually winning the game. In the second game, Srikanth fell behind and couldn't bridge the gap, resulting in Lee's victory.

Despite the defeat, Srikanth remained optimistic about improving his performance and expressed a focus on earning points in the upcoming tournaments. Other Indian players, including Tanisha Crasto, Ashwini Ponnappa, Krishna Prasad Garaga, Sai Pratheek, Ashwini Bhat, and Shikha Gautam, faced early exits from the tournament in their respective categories.
