Oscar Mayo Pardo, the Chief Executive Officer of LALIGA, will be leaving the organization in January 2024 to pursue new professional challenges.
Mayo has been with LALIGA for seven years and held the CEO position since 2021. During his tenure, he contributed to significant successes, including the substantial growth of commercial revenues and the forging of key partnerships.
One notable achievement was the agreement with CVC, bringing nearly 2 billion euros into the competition. Mayo also played a crucial role in establishing joint ventures in China, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and the United States.
LALIGA President Javier Tebas praised Mayo's excellent performance, acknowledging his substantial contributions to the organization's major milestones in recent years.
With Mayo's departure, LALIGA has reorganized its management structure. Jorge de la Vega, the former deputy CEO, will assume a more prominent role. De la Vega, who joined LALIGA three years ago and previously served as Commercial and Marketing Director, achieved significant growth in his areas of management.
To further strengthen the management team, Juan Vicente Marín has been appointed as the new deputy CEO. Marín, with over six years of experience at LALIGA, was previously the CEO of LALIGA ENTERTEINMENT. Both De la Vega and Marín will be part of LALIGA's Executive Committee, taking on responsibilities held by Mayo in the subsidiary companies. Additionally, Marta Alonso, Deputy Director of Corporate General Management, joins the Executive Committee to reinforce both management divisions.
