Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has raised concerns over the current form of Rohit Sharma in the ongoing IPL 2025 tournament.

Manjrekar noticed that Rohit has reached a stage in his life where he has to make a conscious effort every day to stay at his best. He noted that the Mumbai Indians' skipper seems to be trusting his natural ability and instincts a lot.

Rohit's difficulties have been clear in the first games of the season. He was out for a duck in the opener against Chennai Super Kings and scored only 8 runs in the next game against Gujarat Titans, which Mumbai Indians lost by 36 runs on Saturday.

Manjrekar stressed that Rohit is a different player from three to four years ago and that "things are slipping away" for the veteran batsman. He hinted that at this point in his career, Rohit has to motivate himself each morning, work hard, and try to be at his best.

Mumbai Indians' skipper Hardik Pandya also accepted the batting problems of the team, asking the batsmen to step up and deliver better performances. Even with a strong lineup of Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma, and Tilak Varma, Mumbai has scored sub-par totals in their early games, ranking ninth in the 10-team league.

With Mumbai Indians all set to play Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday, the team management and spectators alike will be keenly interested in Rohit Sharma's style of play and performance, hoping that the experienced opener will once again come alive.
