Indian Cricket Team Set for T20 World Cup Departure to New York on May 25

Star players such as skipper Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, and Axar Patel are all set to leave on May 25. This time allows them more time at home, considering that India plays only one warm-up game against Bangladesh, which starts on June 1.

Most of the Indian cricket contingent, along with their extensive support staff, will leave for New York on May 25. This is slightly later than the earlier scheduled date of May 21, immediately after the league games get over on May 19. This will allow for a more cohesive departure of the majority of the team.

The players involved in the final of the IPL will stay back in India until May 27 and will join others in New York. This delay has been deliberately managed to ensure that the impact of jetlag will be minimal, and these players get time to acclimatize themselves and have a few quality net sessions before the all-important warm-up game against Bangladesh.

India's campaign in the T20 World Cup will begin with a match against Ireland on June 5, followed by a most-talked-about match against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9.
