India Appoints Harman to Lead Strong Squads for 3 England T20Is and Two Tests

In an announcement by the BCCI, the Women’s Selection Committee has assembled Team India (Senior Women) squads for the imminent IDFC First Bank T20I series against England, as well as the highly anticipated Test matches against England and Australia.

The national selection committee has unveiled the complete women's squad for the upcoming series against England, which includes T20Is followed by one-off Tests against England and Australia. This marks a significant return of top players for the Indian women's team as they gear up for a power-packed home season.

Harmanpreet Kaur is set to lead the team, with Smriti Mandhana as her deputy, in both the T20I and Test squads. The squads feature prominent stars such as Jamimah Rodriques, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh, Pooja Vastrakar, and Renuka Singh Thakur, ensuring a formidable lineup for the upcoming fixtures.

India's home cricket season for 2023-24 is poised to kick off with an exciting array of matches, notably including two home Tests against formidable opponents, England and Australia.

The cricketing action commences with a thrilling three-match T20I series against England, scheduled from December 6 to 10 at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede Stadium. This series is expected to showcase an intense clash between two competitive teams, promising riveting encounters.

Following the T20Is, both teams will prepare for a standalone Test match, commencing on December 14 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Additionally, another Test match against Australia is lined up, starting from December 21 at the renowned Wankhede Stadium. The women's Test cricket returns home after a substantial gap since 2014, presenting an exciting prospect for cricket enthusiasts.
