IND vs AUS, ODI World Cup Final 2023: Australia win toss, elect to field first against India

In the ongoing ODI World Cup, India, led by Rohit Sharma, previously defeated Australia in the league stage in Chennai. Additionally, Team India has maintained an undefeated streak, triumphing in all ten encounters on the journey to the final against Australia.

Australia won the coin toss and opted to field against India in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 final at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. Both teams chose to stick with the same line-ups that contested their respective semifinal clashes against New Zealand and South Africa.

Expressing his thoughts before the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma emphasized the importance of maintaining composure.

"The biggest occasion in the cricketing event. We have to stay nice and calm. It's a dream come true to be captaining the team in the final. I know what lies in front of us. We need to play well and get the result. You got to make the right decisions on the field. That's something we've done consistently in the last 10 games. We are playing the same team," Rohit Sharma said.

Australia's captain, Pat Cummins, highlighted the potential impact of dew on the final.

"We are gonna have a bowl first. Looks like a dry wicket. Dew is a factor. It gets better to bat on. Tough start to the tournament, haven't really put a foot wrong ever since. It's all set up perfectly. We've played these guys a lot," Cummins remarked.
