Indian badminton star Kidambi Srikanth progressed to the second round of the men’s singles category at the French Open Super 750 tournament with an impressive three-game victory over Chou Tien Chen from Chinese Taipei.

In a thrilling match against the 14th-ranked Chen, Srikanth exhibited his exceptional skills with a combination of precise shot-making and strategic brilliance.

Despite facing a tough challenge, Srikanth remained composed throughout the encounter, rallying from an early deficit to secure a hard-earned win. This marked Srikanth's third victory over Chen in their seven meetings, underscoring his stature as a formidable force in international badminton.

Looking forward, Srikanth is gearing up for his upcoming match against China’s Lu Guang Zu, who currently holds the 17th spot in the world rankings. The clash promises to be another gripping contest on the badminton court.

On the flip side, it was a disappointing outcome for Indian shuttler HS Prannoy, who bowed out of the tournament after a defeat to Lu Guang Zu with a scoreline of 17-21, 17-21. Despite a strong start and a commendable effort, Prannoy couldn't sustain his momentum against his opponent's relentless pressure, ultimately conceding the match.
