Dhoni's explosive cameo, including three consecutive sixes off Hardik Pandya in the final over, propelled CSK to a formidable total of 206 for four. Pathirana's impressive spell of 4 for 28 then stifled MI's chase, restricting them to 186 for six.

Despite contributions from Tilak Varma and others, MI faltered in their chase, with Shardul Thakur and Tushar Deshpande tightening the screws with economical overs.

Earlier in the innings, Dhoni's explosive cameo, supported by forceful fifties from Shivam Dube and Ruturaj Gaikwad, propelled CSK past the 200-run mark. Dhoni's vintage shot-making, highlighted by three consecutive sixes off Pandya in the final over, electrified the packed Wankhede Stadium. Gaikwad's fluent innings of 69 runs off 40 balls and Dube's unbeaten 66 off 38 balls provided the necessary impetus to CSK's innings, setting the stage for their eventual victory.
