The PCB has confirmed the ICC Champions Trophy between 19 February and 9 March 2025 at three main centers: Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. They refused to accept a hybrid model for India's matches.

What could emerge at this point therefore is a hybrid model that the BCCI could present to the ICC; sources have told that India's participation in the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan is unlikely.

Furthermore, due to security concerns, the PCB has proposed Lahore as the base of the Indian team during the event, including the high-voltage India vs. Pakistan clash.

Last year, Pakistan was chosen to host the Asia Cup 2023, but the Indian government did not permit the team to travel, and therefore the matches have been shifted to Sri Lanka.

The Indian cricket team has not visited Pakistan since the Asia Cup in 2008, and the two teams are now only playing each other in ICC or ACC events.

The second title was just achieved last month when India defeated Pakistan by six runs in the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2024.
