India's top pacer Jasprit Bumrah is delighted to receive some overs ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home before the Test tour of Australia in November.
After completing the three-match Test series against Bangladesh, India is to host New Zealand for a three-match Test series before they depart for the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
Bumrah, who had taken five wickets in the first Test against Bangladesh at Chennai, said he is preparing himself to bowl long spells under Australian conditions while reiterating his love for Test cricket. "For me, my favourite format is the Test format. I have said it before also that I wanted to play this format and I'm doing that now. Good to get some overs under the belt and build up those overs. Number of overs we bowl in Australia will be a lot more, I would say," the premier pacer said while speaking to the host broadcaster before the start of play on Monday.
After being thrashed all over on the second and third days of the Test being played at Green Park Stadium, Bumrah feels it is going to be more a case of getting used to the conditions for the rest of the game. "Weather is something you are not in control of. Have to quickly adjust, use your experience. You start communicating with the others as well about the pitch and the lines and lengths," said the pacer.
Mominul Haque slammed his 13th Test century as Bangladesh reached 205 for 6 in 66 overs after resuming the innings from 107/3 at lunch on Day 4.
