Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra and Biju Janata Dal leader Pinaki Misra were seen dancing to the classic Bollywood number 'Raat Ke Humsafar' at their wedding celebrations in Germany. The happy scene went viral in no time after Ms Moitra posted the clip on her Instagram story.
The pair seemed to be well-dressed in refined peach outfits—Ms Moitra had on pale pink Banarasi silk saree with classic gold jewelry and Mr Misra had on a peach waistcoat. They were spotted dancing to the music together, engaging the audience in their elegant steps.
One of the users on X posted, "Wishing both of you a very happy married life. Political ideologies will never match, but some things should not get mixed up together as they're the same thing." Another posted, "Sweet. Wishing the couple a happy future ahead."
The couple got married in Berlin on May 30. With a picture of themselves slicing a beautifully iced two-tier wedding cake, Ms Moitra thanked well-wishers for showering them with love and good wishes. The cake had customised personalized touches such as tiny figurines, a gavel, briefcases, sunglasses, and a handbag.
Prized for her emotive speeches in Parliament, the Trinamool MP's love of designer handbags was cleverly portrayed by the handbag on the cake. Mr Misra, the veteran Supreme Court senior advocate, was represented by the gavel and briefcases—symbols that reflect his long legal and political career.
Mahua Moitra, born in 1974, turned from a successful investment banking career spanning New York and London to being one of the loudest voices of the Trinamool Congress in Parliament.
Pinaki Misra, born in 1959, is an experienced Supreme Court lawyer and four-time Lok Sabha MP from Puri, Odisha. His extensive legal and political experience involves being a member of the Biju Janata Dal led by Naveen Patnaik.
