UP CM Orders Heightened Vigilance and Bans Objectionable Posters in Mathura Ahead of Janmashtami

The UP CM, Yogi Adityanath, has passed special orders for vigilance across Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, where this festival is celebrated with lots of reverence and pomp. Calling the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi/Shahi Idgah Mosque area sensitive as a result of targeting by ISI and other terror outfits, CM Adityanath ordered heightening of security in the area.

He called upon the officials to make arrangements with respect to security, cleanliness and other means while conducting Krishna Leela, tableau and processions through the state. He asked them to make arrangements there should be no disputes while allowing worship and processions. In this context, he mentioned that disputes usually occurred while decorating tableaux at disputed sites, dispute over routes for processions and organizing non-traditional events.

He asked for grand and devout celebrations across state jails, police lines and stations and issued a firm directive that the festival should be celebrated traditionally and with respect. He made it clear without mincing words that no indecent dance programs should be allowed and no new tradition should be invented under any circumstances.

He also ordered that the lists containing the names of antisocial and communal elements be updated, and reports should be submitted as and when required stating that strict action be taken against the individuals. The Chief Minister further issued instructions that a comprehensive list of Leela Sthals, pandals, temples, and 'Shobha Yatras' should be prepared for each district and requisite well-coordinated police arrangements be made.

He also directed the deployment of adequate police forces at crowded places to ensure public safety and traffic management during the celebration programs organized in different temples. He stressed that proper security and traffic management should be ensured, keeping in view the number of devotees that may turn up in these functions.
