The recent incident involving opposition MPs mimicking Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has sparked strong reactions from several Union Ministers. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal criticized the actions, labeling them as an insult to the Jat community and farmers.
Joshi condemned the act, considering it a desperate attempt by the opposition to divert attention and disrespect Dhankhar. He specifically directed criticism towards Rahul Gandhi, questioning the understanding behind certain statements made and implying support for the incident by the Congress.
Meghwal also condemned the MPs' behavior, highlighting that their mockery disrespected not just the Jat community and farmers but also the Vice President. He expressed outrage at the idea that some believed they alone deserved certain positions, insinuating bias against individuals from the Jat community or farmer backgrounds.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju echoed these sentiments on social media, criticizing Rahul Gandhi for filming Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee's mocking of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar.
Earlier, Dhankhar expressed strong disapproval of the incident, labeling it ridiculous and unacceptable. He highlighted the stark difference between political exchanges and the unacceptable nature of a senior leader recording another party member mimicking the Chairman, emphasizing the shameful and unacceptable nature of such actions.
