Unexpected Results: Ashok Gehlot Vows to Investigate Reasons for Congress Defeat

On Sunday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot accepted defeat in the Assembly polls, expressing that the results were unexpected, and the party would investigate the reasons behind the setback.

Upon arriving in the national capital, Gehlot addressed the media, stating, "I have been saying that the people are supreme. The Assembly election results were unexpected."

He further mentioned that the Congress had anticipated the people's mandate to be in their favor. Gehlot said, "But, we accept the result with all humility. And we congratulate the new government and hope that they will work for the people."

When questioned about whether the party was unable to effectively communicate the state government's schemes to the people, Gehlot responded, "I think the schemes of the Rajasthan Government were good, and these were discussed all across the country, and even the guarantees were good. But in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, too, the results have not gone our way. And these were unexpected."

"We will delve into the reasons that led to the defeat of the party in these three states," he added. The acknowledgment of unexpected outcomes and the commitment to examine the reasons behind the defeat showcase Gehlot's response to the election results.
