Trinamool Imposes December 31 Deadline for Seat Sharing Discussions within INDIA Bloc

Amidst the ongoing efforts of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc to strategize against the BJP-led NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a crucial deadline looms. The Trinamool Congress and several INDIA parties have set December 31 as the cutoff for finalizing the seat-sharing arrangement.

The recent fourth meeting of the INDIA bloc witnessed the presence of prominent leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Farooq Abdullah, Nitish Kumar, Rajiv Ranjan, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Uddhav Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, MK Stalin, Sharad Pawar, Akhilesh Yadav, and Ram Gopal Yadav.

Plans are underway to organize eight to ten joint public meetings from January onward, aiming to amplify their collective voice. The meeting served as a platform for every leader to contribute their perspectives and suggestions.

The INDIA bloc's inaugural meeting convened in Patna on June 23, followed by the second meeting in Bengaluru on July 17 and 18. The third gathering occurred in Mumbai on August 31 and September 1, during which a 14-member coordination committee and a 19-member election strategy committee were established.

This formidable coalition, comprising 28 parties, has united with the objective of challenging the BJP's dominance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
