As the Telangana Assembly election results unfolded, Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K. Chandrasekhar Rao found himself trailing in one of the two seats he contested, specifically in the Kamareddy constituency. A. Revanth Reddy, the President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), was leading in Kamareddy, gaining a lead of 2,133 votes at the end of the fifth round.

However, KCR was leading by 5,777 votes in the Gajwel constituency against former Minister Eatala Rajender of the BJP. The Chief Minister has been elected from Gajwel in both 2014 and 2018.

In other contests, Transport Minister P. Ajay Kumar was trailing in Khammam, with former Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao leading by 5,670 votes at the end of the fourth round. Roads and Buildings Minister V. Prashanth Reddy was also trailing in Balkonda.

Minister for Backward Classes Welfare Koppula Eshwar was trailing in Dharampuri, where Congress candidate A. Laxman Kumar established a clear lead of over 7,000 votes at the end of the seventh hour.

E. Dayakar Rao, Minister for Panchayat Raj and a key BRS leader, was trailing against Congress party’s Yashaswini Mamidala in Palakurthi.

Minister for Forest and Endowments A. Indrakaran Reddy was trailing by over 20,000 votes in Nirmal, with BJP’s A. Maheshwar Reddy increasing his lead with each round.
