Dhankhar got many opportunities to serve country in various capacities, says PM Modi

Taking to X, the Prime Minister said, "Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji has had several opportunities to serve our nation in different roles, including as the Vice President of India. Good health to him."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday wished well for Jagdeep Dhankhar after the latter resigned as Vice President over health reasons. Modi recognized Dhankhar's longstanding contributions to the country in various positions.

Taking to X, the Prime Minister said, "Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji has had several opportunities to serve our nation in different roles, including as the Vice President of India. Good health to him."

Dhankhar's resignation surprised everyone on Monday night on grounds of health. In his formal letter of resignation to President Droupadi Murmu, he outlined the reason for his resignation at a personal level to give priority to his health.
 

"To give precedence to health care and follow medical guidance, I am submitting my resignation as Vice President of India from the date of this letter, as per Article 67(a) of the Constitution," Dhankhar stated in the letter to the President.
