Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra addressed the media, expressing uncertainty regarding the placement of the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee report concerning the alleged 'cash-for-query' case in Parliament. When questioned about the report's potential presentation, Moitra responded, "Let's see, I don't know whether they will place it or not."
Moitra faces accusations related to alleged 'cash for Parliament questions.' Lok Sabha Speaker OM Birla had referred BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's complaint against Moitra to the Ethics Committee for investigation.
Following this, on November 9, the Committee finalized a draft report against Moitra regarding the alleged charges and submitted it to the Lok Sabha Speaker, accompanied by the panel's recommendations.
During a meeting on November 2, Moitra, alongside opposition MPs of the Committee, departed the session, citing dissatisfaction with the Committee's chairperson Vinod Sonkar, accusing him of posing "personal and unethical" inquiries.
The Ethics Committee has been investigating BJP MP Dubey's allegations that Moitra received cash and benefits in exchange for posing questions in the Lok Sabha concerning businessman Gautam Adani, allegedly at the behest of businessman Hiranandani.
On October 26, Dubey and advocate Dehadrai presented "oral evidence" to the panel, outlining their case against Moitra.
