Jan Suraj convenor Prashant Kishor on Monday intensified his offensive against the Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, accusing him of nepotism in his rise.

Kishor compared his political sojourn to that of Tejashwi, using film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan as illustrations.

Kishor elaborated that Tejashwi, as the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, did not need to build his identity because his parentage gave him automatic recognition and opportunities.

On the other hand, Kishor underlined that he and all others not having their respective backgrounds needed to build up their identity through sheer hard work and perseverance.

To drive home this distinction, Kishor cited the example of the film world.

Shah Rukh Khan is an example of one whose father did not have any influential circle in the film world and had to struggle much before obtaining success. Starting his career in television, Khan slowly made his way into films where his talent and hard work made him work with top directors like Yash Chopra and Karan Johar. Contrarily, Abhishek Bachchan, son of the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, had opportunities coming his way right from the beginning, as in the case of working with a noted director like JP Dutta in his first film," Kishor said.

Kishor said Tejashwi enjoys the same advantage as Abhishek Bachchan in the film world since he is the son of a wealthy and politically influential figure in Bihar politics.

Whereas Kishor talked about his humble background, of not being born to powerful connections: "My father was not a powerful or wealthy man like Tejashwi's father and therefore I had to strive hard to create my own identity. Road to success of a self-made man is more thorny," said Kishor.

He, therefore, appealed to the public to take such differences into consideration while opting for their representatives, citing that leadership depends on merit and achievement rather than inherited status.

He brought Shah Rukh Khan into this by saying that Shah Rukh, unlike Abhishek Bachchan, had to struggle and find his place from the small screen into one of the reigning film actors to be accorded the choice for collaborators.
