Kangana Ranaut: 'I don’t consume beef, proud to be Hindu'

Dismissing speculations and affirming her pride in being a Hindu, Kangana Ranaut, BJP's Lok Sabha nominee from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, clarified on Monday that she abstains from consuming beef.

In a statement shared on X, she asserted, "I refrain from beef and any other form of red meat. It's regrettable that unfounded rumors are circulating about me."

"For years, I've advocated and embraced the yogic and ayurvedic lifestyle. Such smear tactics won't succeed in tarnishing my reputation. My supporters know me well, and they understand my unwavering commitment to Hinduism. Jai Shri Ram," she emphasized.

Earlier, a controversy erupted following Congress leader Supriya Shrinate's derogatory social media post targeting the actor-turned-politician. Subsequently, the Congress leader clarified that the objectionable content was posted by someone with access to her social media accounts.

The BJP recently criticized Maharashtra's Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar for his statements alleging that Ranaut had expressed her fondness for and consumption of beef on X, insinuating that the BJP had rewarded her with a Lok Sabha ticket as a result.
