JD-U MLA Sparks Controversy, Suggests Willingness to Accept Bribe if Offered

Speaking to the media in Bhagalpur, Mandal stated, "If anyone gives me Rs 5 crore and asks me to keep it, I will not delay for even a minute and accept the money. Why would I refuse Laxmi from coming into my house? I have no fear of ED or anyone else."

JD-U MLA in Bihar, Gopal Mandal, created controversy on Wednesday by openly claiming that he would not hesitate to accept a bribe if offered. Mandal's statement came in response to the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) actions against RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family members in the land-for-jobs case.

Speaking to the media in Bhagalpur, Mandal stated, "If anyone gives me Rs 5 crore and asks me to keep it, I will not delay for even a minute and accept the money. Why would I refuse Laxmi from coming into my house? I have no fear of ED or anyone else." He further expressed disagreement with the penalties faced by Lalu Prasad's children, asserting that they are innocent and have been wrongly implicated in the case.

This statement by Mandal contradicts the positions taken by leaders of JD-U and BJP, who have been justifying the ED's actions against Lalu Prasad and his family. The ED has recently questioned Lalu Prasad, Tejashwi Yadav, and Rabri Devi in connection with the case, and further interrogations of other family members, including Misa Bharti and Tej Pratap Yadav, are anticipated.
