'He Must Be Regretting Leaving Me', Raghav Chadha Takes a Jibe at Congress Over Haryana Loss

Without naming anyone, he said, "Today he too must be regretting leaving me, If we had walked together it would have been something else."

Hours after the Haryana election results handed the Congress a blow, AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha mocked the grand old party for walking out on a potential alliance with the party headed by Arvind Kejriwal. Raghav Chadha has taken a satirical jibe at the Congress party on X saying, "If you had cared about my wishes, it would have been a different matter, If you had taken care of our desires, it would have been a different evening."

Significantly, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi had even recommended to the party's state election committee that a pre-poll alliance with the AAP be sought for Haryana elections and the latter was also keen and ready for such a coalition. But, the proposed alliance got nixed and nipped in the bud, as the Haryana Congress unit raised strong objections against aligning with a party with 'no ground support'.

Now that the results have again given a shock defeat to Congress today, the usual political pundits and experts are again pinning the blame on Congress for not being able to put up a united face against the BJP juggernaut in Haryana. The vote share of Congress and BJP gives a good insight into how an alliance of Congress with its INDIA bloc allies could have changed the picture and given it an upper hand.

Congress's internal squabbles and over-confidence have been credited to be the most critical reasons for party's loss in Assembly elections.

BJP is all ready to form the next government in Haryana, and Congress party woes are still a long way from coming to an end. Internal strife and blame-game only look set to intensify further in days ahead of electoral loss.

Indeed, Kumari Selja speaking to the press after election results also took a dig at Congress veteran and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

"We will have to look and introspect. Ticket distribution was also an issue (but) what can we say about this now," she told scribes.

She also added that it would never be business as usual since the high command would identify people who worked against endeavor to bring the party to power in the state after 10 years.
