Congress leader Jairam Ramesh expressed optimism on Thursday about resolving the seat-sharing deadlock with the TMC. Ramesh, speaking at Bagdogra airport, emphasized Mamata Banerjee's indispensability in countering the BJP and stated that the Congress envisions an influential INDIA alliance with her.

"I won't provide a running commentary on seat-sharing, but we are committed to ending this impasse and finding a solution," Ramesh remarked. His statements followed the ripples caused by Banerjee's solo decision within the opposition bloc.

Despite the TMC's decision to abstain from the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,' an initiative by the Congress, Ramesh disclosed that Banerjee had been invited to participate. The yatra, aimed at fighting against prevailing injustices in the country, entered Bengal on Thursday morning. Ramesh extended the invitation with the intention of aligning efforts against injustice.

"We have twice extended invitations to Mamata ji to join the yatra. We all desire her participation because our goal is the same – to combat the prevailing injustice in the country," Ramesh stated. While the TMC cited a lack of information for their decision to abstain, the CPI(M) and Left parties, Congress allies in both the state and the national INDIA bloc, are expected to join the march.
