Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to skip ED summons, participate in MP roadshow: Report

Instead, he will be embarking on a roadshow in Madhya Pradesh, alongside his counterpart from Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, in the region of Singrauli.

Delhi's Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has chosen to forego the Enforcement Directorate's summons, which called for his presence in connection with the alleged liquor policy scandal, news agency IANS reported quoting its sources. Instead, he will be embarking on a roadshow in Madhya Pradesh, alongside his counterpart from Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, in the region of Singrauli.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal strongly criticized the summons, deeming it both illegal and politically motivated. In a Hindi post on social media platform X, he said, "The summons are illegal and politically motivated." Furthermore, he alleged that the notice had been orchestrated by the BJP, claiming, "The notice was sent to ensure that I am unable to go for election campaigning in four states. The ED should withdraw the notice immediately."

This marks the Chief Minister's inaugural summons from the ED in relation to the alleged scandal. He had originally scheduled a visit to Rajghat before his appearance before the ED, and as a result, Delhi Police significantly bolstered security measures at the ED office and Rajghat, deploying a substantial number of police officers and even paramilitary forces.

In the meantime, there has been an increase in security presence outside Kejriwal's residence to ensure his safety and well-being.
