CISF Constable Suspended for Altercation with Kangana at Chandigarh Airport

A CISF constable who allegedly "slapped and abused" Kangana Ranaut, the actress-turned-newly-elected MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, at the Chandigarh airport, has been summoned to the CISF Commandant Office for interrogation after being suspended.

Identified as Kulvinder Kaur, the constable has been stationed at the airport for the past two-and-a-half years. Kaur, speaking on television after the incident, expressed her distress over Kangana's remarks during the farmers' agitation, citing her own mother's participation in the protests.

She voiced her discontent over Kangana's statement about the farmers protesting for monetary gain, mentioning her mother's involvement in the demonstrations at the time of Kangana's remarks.

“My mother was also among the protesters when she (Kangana) made these remarks," Kaur could be heard saying.

Furthermore, Kaur was reportedly displeased with Kangana's characterization of the protesting farmers as 'Khalistanis'.

“She gave a statement that the farmers are sitting there for Rs 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement,” Kaur added.

The altercation occurred as Kangana was en route to New Delhi for a meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Party. Kangana herself confirmed the incident, asserting that Kaur had slapped her at the security checkpoint due to her previous remarks regarding the farmers' protests in Punjab.

Although Kangana assured her safety, she expressed concern over the escalating militancy and terrorism in Punjab.

Kangana also posted a video on X to confirm eyewitness reports that she had been "slapped and abused" by Kaur when she was on her way to board a flight from Chandigarh to New Delhi.

Kaur's brother, Sher Singh, disclosed to a news channel that she has been serving in the CISF for almost 16 years, and her husband is also a member of the CISF.

Meanwhile, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher accused BJP leaders of defaming the farmers and criticized the use of force against them.

In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, Kangana emerged victorious over her closest competitor, Vikramaditya Singh of the Congress, by a margin of 74,755 votes in Mandi.
