Anurag Thakur Seeks Fifth Term in Hamirpur, Suresh Kashyap Nominated for Shimla

In the previous 2019 elections, the BJP secured a historic victory across all four Himachal Pradesh Lok Sabha seats, boasting significant victory margins and a remarkable 70% vote share.

In its latest announcement of 72 Lok Sabha candidates, the BJP has once again nominated Union Minister Anurag Thakur for the Hamirpur constituency and Suresh Kashyap for Shimla (SC).

In the previous 2019 elections, the BJP secured a historic victory across all four Himachal Pradesh Lok Sabha seats, boasting significant victory margins and a remarkable 70% vote share.

Among the triumphant BJP candidates were incumbents Anurag Thakur (Hamirpur) and Ram Swaroop Sharma (Mandi), along with party MLAs Suresh Kashyap (Shimla) and Kishan Kapoor (Kangra). Each of these candidates secured their respective seats with remarkable margins.

Anurag Thakur, the son of four-term MP and former state Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, successfully defended the Hamirpur seat, clinching victory over his closest rival Ram Lal Thakur of the Congress by an unprecedented margin of 3,99,572 votes.
