Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday gave a glimpse, however rare, of his plans after politics, stating that he wants to dedicate his life after retirement to spiritual learning and organic farming.

There is much to be done on fertilisers in front of us. The cooperative sector should consider it. I have made up my mind that whenever I retire, I will spend the rest of my life on Vedas, Upanishads, and natural farming," he stated.

Stressing the advantages of sustainable methods, Shah furthered, "This natural farming has so good a scientific application that it provides so many benefits.

His office subsequently posted an example highlighting the role of the cooperative sector in farmers' lives. Referencing an instance of a Gujarati farmer, it tweeted on X, "Miral Ben Rabari from Gujarat explained to Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri @AmitShah ji how camel milk-selling farmers are earning money via cooperatives and how individuals are gaining from the medicinal value of camel milk."

Earlier, on the fourth anniversary of the Ministry of Cooperation, a grand 'Sahkar Samelan' was organised in Anand—India's Milk Capital—with Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in attendance.

During the function, Shah opened various new projects at Amul Dairy and urged for an extension of the cooperative movement to all over India. He underscored a five-pronged approach to do so—People, PACS, Platform, Policy, and Prosperity—as detailed in a press release of the Gujarat Chief Minister's Office.

Shah also observed that the concomitant celebration of the fourth anniversary of the Ministry, the 60th year of the National Dairy Development Board, and the 150th birth anniversary year of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had resulted in a series of effective initiatives in Anand. During the past four years, the Ministry has been devoted to creating a cooperative ecosystem with the foundation of service, policy transformation, digital platforms, and economic development where everyone feels empowered, he added. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cooperative enterprises are expanding and diversifying further all over the nation.
