A mob reportedly attacked a team investigating illegal stone mining, leading to the release of seized earth-moving machinery by the police, according to officials on Wednesday. An FIR has been registered against the village sarpanch and around 15 to 16 unidentified individuals under various sections, including 186 and 353 of the IPC, which include charges of obstructing public servants in the discharge of their duties and assaulting or using criminal force against them, respectively.
