P V Sindhu: The Badminton Champ

It was way back in 2013 when she became the first Indian woman to win a medal in the Badminton World Championship. Indian government has also conferred her with the fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri, which tells her story of hard work and success quite well.

After becoming the first Indian female to win a Silver Medal in Olympics, ace badminton sports star P V Sindhu has risen up to become one of the most famous sports celebrities of India today. 


 PV Sindhu was born in Hyderabad (Now in Telangana); her parents were volleyball players, so we can say that sportsmanship was in her genes. PV Sindhu has not risen to fame after clenching a medal for India in Olympics.

She participated in the Junior Asian Badminton Championship in 2009 and won a Bronze medal for India; the contest was held in Colombo. In the Fajr International Badminton Challenge in Mexico in 2010 she stormed into finals and clinched a silver medal for India. The contest was held in 2010 in Mexico.

2012 was one of the most important years for PV Sindhu. It was in 2012 when she realized how fiery she is and how much more there’s for her to achieve. It was here when her struggle for an Olympic medal started and was fulfilled in Rio Olympics 2016.
