Lewis' parents immigrated from Grenada to the UK in the 1950s and they seperated their ways when he was just 2. Lewis moved with his mother and lived with his half-sister. Since childhood he had a passion to race therefore his father gifted him a radio controlled car at the age of 6. He also gifted him a go-kart and then he started karting at the age of 8 and soon started winning races.
Hamilton started his racing career operating motor controlled cars at a young age. After winning the national championship, he moved on to karting.

Lewis's car racing career started in 2001 with the British Formula Renault Winter Series, and he continued his success in the Formula 3 in 2006.
