Larry Page: The Man Who Gave Us Google

Born on March 26, 1973, in East Lansing Michigan, Lawerence Edward Page is a computer genius. He comes from a tremendous academic background where his father and mother were computer professors. Larry was surrounded by computers and science magazines which increased his fascination for technology at an early age.

One of the most inspirational and influential billionaires of the modern-era, Larry Page, has come a long way. He started a popular web browser Google with his PhD friend Sergey Brin in 1998. Later, people used to call them virtual masters of the universe.

He completed his formal education from East Lansing High School in 1991 and later achieved his bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University Of Michigan. Later, just as many great minds Larry enrolled at Stanford University to complete his PhD in Computer Science.

The decision of taking admission in Stanford paid off as he met his fellow researcher Sergey Brin. Both were working on research work, and later in 1996 they built a search engine initially called ''BackRub.''

In the Beginning. ''BackRub'' was operated on Stanford servers and the duo decided to combine their project as a company. Later, Andy Bechtolsheim, who is the co-founder of Sun Microsystem, played a significant role in financing the company. And in September 1998 the project was renamed as ''Google'', and it was officially incorporated as a company. In 2001 Eric Schmidt was appointed as the CEO while Larry Page and Bric became the president of products and technology respectively.

Later in 2002 Larry and Brin were named in the top 100 innovators in the world under the age of 35. In the same year, the World Economic Forum named Larry Page as a Global Leader for tomorrow. Page also received the prestigious award of Maroni Foundation which is given in honour to the top contributors of science and technology. Besides this, Page also invented the PageRank, Google best-known search ranking algorithm.

In 2004, Google expanded its business by launching a social networking site named Orkut and in the same year, they also launched an IPO which made Page a millionaire. Google doesn't stop here; Larry keeps on launching innovations like Google maps, Blogger Mobile, Google Reader, iGoogle, Google+, Chromebook Laptop and many more. Also, Google acquired Youtube and launched a chat feature as Gmail.

In 2008, Google launched another site as Google Earth and Google Health, but unfortunately, Google Health was stopped as it doesn't achieve the desired goals. Also, in 2009 Google launched the latest version of Google Earth as the Google Venture, which was for funding new technology companies.

Furthermore, Google launched Google App marketplace for integrated business applications which enable customers to manage cloud applications. Moreover, Larry Page was appointed as the CEO of Google parent company, Alphabet Inc.

As per some reports, Larry Page is 9th richest person in the world with a wealth of around $69.6 billion
