James Quincey: Know the Chairman and CEO of Coca-Cola

Quincey's career at Coca-Cola began in 1996. Prior to Coca-Cola, he was a partner in strategy consulting at The Kalchas Group, a spinoff of Bain & Company and McKinsey. In 1996, he joined the beverage company in Atlanta as director of learning strategy for the Latin America Group. Later he held various operational roles in Latin America and was eventually appointed as the President of the South Latin division in 2003.

James Robert B. Quincey is the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) and Chairman of the Coca-Cola Company. He replaced Muhtar Kent to become the CEO of the company.

From 2005- 2008 he served as the President of the company’s Mexico division and led the acquisition of Jugos del Valle.

From 2008-2012, he served as the president of the Northwest Europe & Nordics Business Unit. In 2009 he led the acquisition of innocent juice.

James Quincey played a crucial role in the creation of Coca-Cola European Partners, one of the largest independent Coca-Cola bottlers in the world.

He served as the president of Coca-Cola's Europe Group, for two years, beginning from 2013 until 2015. Under his tenure as the president, the company's Europe Group expanded its brand portfolio and improved its market share.

In 2015, Quincey has bestowed the role of the chief operating officer (COO) of the company. Later was given the responsibility of the company's President too. Under his leadership as the COO and President, he brought several changes in the company, he changed the management and the entire Coke hierarchy and also outlined a plan to have five category clusters for brands in the company.

In 2016, he replaced Muhtar Kent as the CEO of the Coca-Cola Company and took the charge of CEO in December 2016. As the CEO, he announced reducing 1,200 corporate positions as part of a plan to invest in new products and marketing and restore the year's revenue and profit growth from 4 to 6 percent.

On 24 April 2019, he was elected chairman of the board. At present,  James Quincey is leading Coca-Cola in its continuing evolution as a total beverage company.

Born on 8 January 1965 in London, James Quincey graduated in electronic engineering from the University of Liverpool. He is well-versed in English and Spanish. He is married to Jacqui Quincey and the couple is blessed with two children. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
