The return of 'Euphoria' for its third season remains shrouded in uncertainty, leaving fans eagerly awaiting news of its production start date. Even Zendaya, the acclaimed Hollywood star and executive producer of the hit HBO series, admits to being in the dark regarding the next season's timeline.
Despite her role behind the scenes, Zendaya emphasizes that she lacks control over whether the third season materializes or not, according to a report by Variety. However, her desire to reprise the role of Rue is evident. "If it aligns with the character's trajectory and everything falls into place as it should, certainly," Zendaya shared with Variety during the 'Challengers' premiere in Los Angeles.
Following HBO's announcement on March 25 of the postponement of 'Euphoria' Season 3, citing their commitment to delivering an exceptional next installment, an HBO spokesperson disclosed that the network is granting the cast opportunities to pursue other projects in the interim.
Subsequently, Storm Reid, known for her portrayal of Rue's younger sister Gia, broke the silence among the cast, expressing optimism that the much-anticipated season 3 would come to fruition eventually. "I remain hopeful that our viewers will witness the culmination of our efforts," Reid remarked, underscoring the importance of handling the show with care due to the dedication poured into it.
The postponement stemmed, in part, from creative divergences. While Sam Levinson initially proposed a five-year leap forward, envisioning Rue as a private detective, Zendaya's suggestion depicted a sober Rue engaging as a pregnancy surrogate, showcasing the differing creative directions under consideration.
