Renowned African-American artist and vocalist, Mary Millben, extended warm greetings to the Indian community on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.
In a touching display of cultural unity, she posted a video on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing her live rendition of the devotional song Om Jai Jagdish Hare, coupled with warm Diwali wishes.
“Today, I join my Indian brothers and sisters here in America and across the world celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights, symbolizing the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Inside of us all is a light the world needs to see and feel!” she posted.
“As a Christian woman and strong woman of faith, I value the experience of interfaith relationship. The love of God has no boundaries and I am grateful to share His love through music with my Hindu family in this season of Diwali. Happy Diwali to you and your families!’ she added.
In a previous tweet, she revisited a 2020 performance of the same devotional song, expressing gratitude to India, the Indian American community, and global Indian communities for welcoming the heartfelt performance into their homes and hearts.
