In the distinguished list of recipients for the Padma Awards in 2024, legendary actress Vyjanthimala, former Vice President M. Venkiah Naidu, and Telugu superstar K. Chiranjeevi were honored with the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award. Other notable awardees included the late Sulabh Foundation founder and Chairman Bindeshwar Pathak (posthumous) and artist Padma Subrahmanyam.
The Padma Bhushan category featured prominent personalities such as the Supreme Court's first woman judge M. Fathima Beevi (posthumous), veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, Foxconn Chairman Young Liu, former Union Minister and BJP leader Ram Naik, singer Usha Uthup, and Tamil actor and DMDK founder Vijaykanth (posthumous), among others.
A total of 110 individuals were recognized with the Padma Shri, representing various fields and contributions to society. The Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award, was previously announced for the late socialist leader and former Bihar Chief Minister, Karpoori Thakur. These awards are a testament to the outstanding achievements and significant contributions of individuals across diverse sectors in India.
