National Award-winning filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, on Thursday announced that his next film, titled "The Delhi Files - The Bengal Chapter," will release on August 15, 2025. He also revealed that the film would be released in two parts while "The Bengal Chapter" is part one.
The news was announced by Agnihotri, who is known for films such as "The Tashkent Files," "The Kashmir Files," and "The Vaccine War" in X, formerly known as Twitter. The filmmaker shared the poster of a silhouette of a child raising hands to the national emblem in the background.
His post read: “MARK YOUR CALENDAR: August 15, 2025. After years of research, the story of #TheDelhiFiles is too powerful for one part. We’re excited to bring you The Bengal Chapter – the first of two parts, unveiling a significant chapter in our history.”
"The Delhi Files" stars Pallavi Joshi, wife of Agnihotri, who co-produces the film. Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Puneet Issar, Babbu Maan, Govind Namdev and Palomi Ghosh are part of the film.
Reports indicate that Agnihotri will study "over 100 books and over 200 articles based on the events seen in the film". He and his team will visit 20 states in the nation for research of more than 7,000 research pages and over 1,000 archived articles. Even the last small details of the film are kept inside the closet.
