Actor Tom Holland, who stars in the movie "Spider-Man," said he and co-star Zendaya have read a draft of the script for the franchise's fourth chapter.
In the new film, Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man from the first three movies -- "Spider-Man: Homecoming" (2017), "Spider-Man: Far From Home" (2019), and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (2021).
He's also appeared in various Marvel movies like "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame."
Representing The Rich Roll Podcast, he added, "I read it three weeks ago. It really lit a fire in me. We have a creative and we have a pitch and a draft, which is excellent. It needs work but the writers are doing great."
The actor, who features on today's episode of The Rich Roll Podcast, said him and his co-star from the series, Zendaya, the girl he got romantically involved with in the series, MJ, immediately felt elated after reading the draft.
" We sat down with Zendaya, and we were reading through it together. And sometimes we bouncing around the living room like that is a real movie worth the respect of the fans," he added.
Last month, American media reported that "Shang-Chi" director Destin Daniel Cretton was in talks to take over the fourth part from the director of the first three parts, Jon Watts.
Holland also spoke about working inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where individual movies form just one part of something much larger and connected into a Marvel saga.
One of the things with Marvel is that your movie is just one cog in this large machine, and that machine has to keep on going. And you have to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to benefit the bigger picture.
"That is one of the challenges we are facing. The time in which we need to get that done is a tall order but definitely achievable with the fantastic people we have working on it now," he added.
