Renowned singer-songwriter Adele, aged 35, is ready to break her four-month sobriety streak, marking the end of her self-imposed alcohol ban. This decision comes as she concludes the second leg of her residency at The Colosseum Caesar Palace in Las Vegas.
Adele, who has undergone a significant lifestyle transformation resulting in a seven-stone weight loss, plans to celebrate with an expensive wine, despite its tendency to trigger intense headaches.
Expressing her frustration to fans in Sin City, Adele disclosed that her illness had temporarily disrupted her celebration plans. She lamented missing out on enjoying red wine during the current weather, acknowledging that she had halted drinking but was now eager to resume during her break. The singer highlighted her aversion to red wine while performing due to its adverse effects, confessing, "I don't know about you, but red wine messes me up. I cannot handle it."
Known for her preference for white wine, Adele outlined her specific approach to consuming it, mixing it with sparkling water and ice. However, she humorously admitted that even this concoction sometimes leaves her feeling a bit worse for wear. She shared her intention to indulge in a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape this week, but her illness has forced her to reconsider.
“I’m a white wine girl, but not straight. But I can’t eat white wine anymore. I’m 35 going on 85. I have to have half and half. Half sparkling water and half white wine with ice. And I still get f*****. But a glass of red wine tips me over the edge. I have the worst hangover, my whole mouth and tongue turns red,” she said.
“I look like a disaster and it just gets rid of my voice. So I was planning on drinking a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape this week, but now I can’t because I am sick,” she added.
Adele, a mother of an 11-year-old son, Angelo, is currently grappling with a chesty cold, fever, and general illness, as reported by 'Female First UK.' Last month, she opened up to her fans about her relationship with alcohol, revealing that she was borderline alcoholic in her twenties. Despite her sobriety, she expressed a longing for those drinking moments, emphasizing her jealousy toward a fan enjoying a whiskey sour.
