Singer Sonu Nigam has denied reports of stones being hurled at the stage during his recent performance, explaining that no such event occurred.
The 51-year-old artiste performed on the stage at Delhi Technological University's (DTU) Engifest 2025 on Sunday.
Popular for hit songs such as Kal Ho Naa Ho, Suraj Hua Maddham, and Soniyo, Nigam clarified the news on Tuesday in a post on his Instagram account, rubbishing the incorrect reports.
Posting images and videos from the concert, he clarified that although the concert was temporarily stopped because of a vape being hurled on to the stage, there was no incident of stone or bottle throwing.
"No stone-hurling or bottle-hurling as has been reported by some media was seen at DTU," he said.
He also described what had occurred, stating, "A vape was thrown on the stage and Subhankar's chest got hit by it. That's when I got to know. I halted the show and instructed the students that if such activities kept on occurring, we would be forced to halt the show."
Adding a bit of levity, he quipped that the only other item that ended up on the stage was a hairband.
