Tamil actor Siddharth has again landed himself in a raging controversy. The actor who is known for his social media presence attracted rage after he attacked Indian Badminton star Saina Nehwal with a sexually derogatory tweet.
Siddharth, known for his performance in Rang De Basanti is receiving backlash from netizens after he responded to a tweet by Indian Shuttler Saina Nehwal where she was seen talking about PM Modi's recent security breach in Punjab.
Talking about the event that happened in Ferozepur on January 05, Sania wrote, "No nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists. #BharatStandsWithModi #PMModi (sic)."

To which Siddharth responded “Subtle cock champion of the world... Thank God we have protectors of India. Shame on you”
Here the actor is receiving brickbats for using the word cocks which is slang for male sexual organ. By twisting the badminton term ‘shuttlecock’, Siddharth tried to humiliate the star player.
The derogatory remark took netizens by shock as many were left disgusted by the actor's tweet calling it sexist, crass, and sexually harassing.
After the tweet made headlines, the Olympic bronze medalist finally broke her silence and revealed that she didn't take the actor's words kindly.
Talking to India Today about Siddharth’s comment, the Indian shuttler said "I’m not sure what he meant... I used to like him as an actor but this was not nice. He can express himself with better words but I guess it’s Twitter and you remain noticed with such words and comments. If the security of the PM of India is an issue, then I’m not sure what is secure in the country,"

Not just netizens but Rekha Sharma, chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW) has also shown her rage on the tweet. Taking to her Twitter handle she wrote This man needs a lesson or two. @TwitterIndia why does this person's account still exist?..taking it up with the Concerned police.
She also revealed that the Commission has sought prompt and strict action against Siddharth for his outrageous remark against Saina Nehwal on social media.
